Reading Pass 2025: Pass for children as a way of life!

In Lower Austria, an exciting project for promoting reading skills starts, which is already expected in schools. At the beginning of the semester, the reading pass 2025 will be transmitted to all elementary and special schools. This initiative, which runs under the umbrella of time reading, bears the motto "Read - Your Guide" and aims to raise awareness of the fundamental role of reading in orientation. Both books and texts as well as signposts, plans and street signs can be viewed as reading objects, which the action designs particularly flexibly. The reading passport is distributed directly by the teachers and does not require registration, which facilitates access, as reported.

reading pass campaign with playful tasks

With a versatile concept that combines game and learning, the children are motivated by small reading tasks. These already proven tasks are designed in such a way that they can be carried out both in school and in an extra -curricular context. The children receive a sticker for every successfully completed task, which also increases motivation. The inclusion of family members and other caregivers is also encouraged, as reading together increases the joy of reading. Project manager Katharina Schwabl emphasizes that everything that is read counts-from comics to maps to traffic signs, such as Stadtlandzeitung.com

In addition to the reading pass, free online events for teachers and relatives are offered. This enables a deeper examination of the topic of reading and at the same time offers creative activity opportunities. Students can also take part in a competition, under which a lucky winner is waiting for the invitation to a large reading pass ceremony in St. Pölten. Overall, this comprehensive action pursues the goal of sustainably strengthening the reading motivation of children and focusing on the importance of reading by integrating it into different areas of life.
