Contemplative nativity play in Beilngries: Christmas begins!

On Christmas Eve, December 24th, 2024, the festive Christmas season began in Beilngries with an enchanting crèche celebration in the parish church of St. Walburga. As the lights in the church went out at 3:30 p.m., a sense of anticipation filled the room. Countless families filled the church to watch the nativity play performed by the children. They told the moving story of the birth of Jesus, when Mary and Joseph found shelter in a stable and God's Son was given to humanity. This performance impressively conveyed the central message of Christmas: “the festival of love,” as one of the children announced, while musical support from a youth group from the symphonic wind orchestra under the direction of Ida Meyer ensured the festive atmosphere Danube Courier reported.

Diverse participation in the celebration

At the crèche celebration, not only the children but also the committed members of the wind orchestra contributed significantly to the festive atmosphere. The event attracted numerous spectators and left the church filled to capacity. The children brought the biblical story to life through their play and highlighted the true meaning of Christmas by highlighting the warmth and togetherness that this holiday brings. The celebration was therefore not just a performance, but an expression of community and anticipation of the upcoming Christmas, which many will celebrate with their loved ones at home, complemented by the sequence of celebrations on this special day recorded in the children's pastoral at Christmas time.
