The successful athlete has to choose between the downhill skiing and the parallel giant slalom in snowboarding, as both competitions take place at the same time on February 8th. This was confirmed by the FIS, which rejected their request to change the competition calendar. Ledecka dreams of showing off her skills in both disciplines, but the test couldn't be more challenging the crown reported.

Ester Ledecka, who has already made sports history with gold medals in both skiing and snowboarding, is hoping for a solution: “I hope they give me a chance to put on this unique show,” she said, emphasizing that her biggest dream is to shine in both disciplines. Nevertheless, the competitions in Cortina d'Ampezzo and Livigno are fixed, which makes it impossible for her to take part in both. However, Ledecka could start in the Super-G on February 12th, where she doesn't have to choose and has a real chance of winning medals in both sports, as stated in an article by Eurosport is described.

The decision could also have an impact on other athletes, such as Ramona Hofmeister, who has better chances of winning a medal in the overall World Cup without Ledecka. While Ledecka only took part in one Snowboard World Cup this season and therefore only made the podium in the downhill, her talent in both sports remains unmistakable. She has managed to prove herself at the highest level and could once again cause a sensation in both skiing and snowboarding.
