Crisis of trust: ÖVP and Greens on the abyss, FPÖ continues to polarize!

Wien, Österreich - In an alarming survey by Lazarsfeld, published on OE24 Government parties ÖVP and Greens. Almost 60 % of the respondents do not consider the ÖVP to be trustworthy, while 62 % of those surveyed think the same about the Greens. This marks the deepest value for both parties since the beginning of their coalition. The FPÖ, on the other hand, polarizes: with 29 % it has the best value, but 55 % of the respondents suspect her. The SPÖ moves in midfield, followed by the NEOS, which also suffer from a high suspicion.

confidence in the government drops despite the Corona retention

like reported the press, trust in the government has continued to decrease, but satisfaction has fundamentally over the level before the corona pandemy. Minister of Health Rudolf Aschober (Greens) posted the greatest loss of trust with a decline of 14 points and still has a balance of 24 points. Chancellor Sebastian Kurz (ÖVP) is 27 points, which, despite a decline of 11 points, still secures a solid second place compared to July.

In contrast, the opposition heads Beate Meinl-Reisinger (NEOS) and Pamela Rendi-Wagner (SPÖ) have increased in the surveys, which probably owes them to Vienna. It is interesting that the pandeme -related measures, despite a noticeable general loss of trust, obviously keep the approval of the government stable in times of crisis. This can be seen in the continuing acceptance of the tougher Lockdowns, which, according to OGM boss Wolfgang Bachmayer, indicates that the citizens largely accept the measures in view of the worsening corona situation.
