Kaniak urgently demands reforms for better medication in Austria!
Laimgrubengasse 10, 1060 Wien, Österreich - The FPÖ health spokesman NABG. Mag. Gerhard Kaniak emphasizes the rapid anchoring of a medication analysis as a cash benefit in Austria. According to a current study by the Austrian Chamber of Pharmacists, together with the MedUni Vienna and the social security institutions, a structured medication analysis in pharmacies could reduce the risk of interactions and incorrect income by up to 70 percent. This is particularly important for older or needy people in need of care who often have to take several medication. Kaniak praised the health benefits and emphasized that pharmacists relieved this measure and strengthened their role in healthcare. At the same time, he campaigned for adequate taxation of the pharmacists who have to take on such consulting services in order to appreciate the valuable expertise, such as OTS reported.
But Kaniak also criticized the recent amendments to the law that the government passed. He described the changes in the medical device law and in the federal law on drug supply as insufficient and accused the government of creating uncertainties through insufficient regulations and not effectively solving the problems. Kaniak pointed out that many medical devices did not receive the necessary certifications because the responsible bodies were overwhelmed. These problems resulted from an unused EU policy and the failure of the black and green federal government to implement the necessary measures in good time. He emphasized that the government's solutions were more ad hoc and that the reality often did not record. The planned supply of pharmaceuticals is also ineffective, since the central storage locations are often not in Austria and therefore access to these supplies could be difficult in the event of a crisis, such as fpoe.at indicated.
The exemptions of the Red Cross Act were also sharply criticized. Kaniak referred to the important role of the Austrian Red Cross in the social and health area and pointed out that the reforms planned by the government could endanger drug safety for socially needy. He called for a fair treatment and support of the Red Cross instead of creating exemptions that could endanger the rights of those affected.
