Fighting women in Ukraine: Hope through social projects!

Lviv, Ukraine - On March 6, 2025, international women's day will be celebrated worldwide, and this year the fate of women in Ukraine is particularly pointed out. Three years after the beginning of the Russian war of aggression, they still fight with terrible consequences such as displacement, gender -specific violence and the growing emergency in health care. In order to help in this critical period, the social integrative company Wienwork, together with the Walnusshaus in LVIV, implement various measures that are intended to strengthen women as part of the project "Key Ways". This project, funded by the Austrian government, runs until September 2026 and supports women who suffer from poverty and violence in making their future self -determined. As Magdalena Ziegler, project manager at Wienwork, emphasizes: "It needs to be solidarity and equal partnerships across national borders" in order to counter the social consequences of the war, reported APA-OTS .

volunteer projects as hope sponsors

Another ray of hope in the middle of the crisis situation is the social commitment of volunteers in Ukraine. A Passau student named Melissa took part in such a project last year that led her to the East Ukrainian Charkiw. There she not only taught German and English, but also promoted workshops on sustainability and cultural diversity. Even if life and accommodation with closed rooms and more modest standards were a challenge, Melissa reported that the experiences and friendships that she made from it would remain unforgettable. Through these encounters, the students who had contact with international volunteers learned the importance of multiculturalism and gained new perspectives, such as Aiesec

The social projects in which volunteers like Melissa work make an invaluable contribution to promoting intercultural exchange and supporting local communities. Melissa experienced the warm hospitality of the Ukrainian and is grateful for the opportunity not only to pass on her language skills, but also to learn a valuable lesson in humanity and resilience. Your report is not only a narrative of your experiences, but also a call to others to get involved in social projects in order to spread hope and solidarity at a time when you are most urgently needed.
