Tragic fall: 15-year-old falls in Kaltenleutgen cement factory!
A shocking accident occurred on Thursday evening in Kaltenleuthaben, Lower Austria, when a 15-year-old girl from Vienna suffered a fatal accident after falling from the sixth floor of an abandoned cement factory. The incident occurred around 10 p.m. when the teenager fell into a two to four meter hole in the ground. According to police spokesman Johann Baumschlager, she was said to have entered the building with friends to take photos Cosmo.
The young person was accompanied by three other young people, including two 15-year-olds and a 21-year-old, all of whom come from Vienna. The quartet may have been trying to take part in the so-called “Lost Place Challenge,” which encourages young people to explore hard-to-reach or abandoned places. Despite clear warning signs and construction fences blocking access to the dilapidated factory, the young people gained access via the staircase, reported The press.
Investigations are ongoing
The people accompanying the deceased teenagers have not yet been questioned and the police have launched further investigations to clarify the exact circumstances of the tragic incident. After the fall, the girl remained lying on the first floor of the building and could not be saved despite immediate emergency measures. The old cement factory, known as the “Lost Place,” always attracts brave young people who want to explore the ruins. There are plans to restore the property to create residential and commercial space, however the safety of such sites remains critical, as this tragic event shows.
