A dramatic traffic accident turned the B90 federal highway in Blintendorf into chaos this morning! Shortly before 10 a.m. there was a serious collision at the motorway exit, which shut down the road until at least 4 p.m. Traffic is at a standstill while emergency services are on duty!
Horrible accident
According to reports, a truck turning off the highway toward Bad Lobenstein cut off a car that had the right of way. The 49-year-old driver of the car first crashed into the truck and then tried to avoid it. But the accident took its course: he collided head-on with an oncoming truck! Both vehicles were thrown into the ditch with full force.
The consequences were devastating: the car driver suffered serious injuries and had to be freed from his wreckage with great technical effort. Firefighters worked tirelessly to save him before he was flown to hospital by helicopter. The two truck drivers escaped with shock, but the exact cause of the accident is still unclear. A vehicle expert is on site to clarify the situation.
The police have started an investigation and the questioning of all those involved and witnesses is still ongoing. No further information will be released until the overturned truck is recovered and the damage is assessed.
