Rescue action after a missed hike: six Germans in need!

On Sunday afternoon, a dramatic incident occurred in Vorarlberg: Six German hikers had to be saved by a police helicopter after taking over on a planned tour to the Mörzelspitze. The group, between the ages of 20 and 22, started at around 12 p.m. below the Kobelalpe. But when they still stuck and felt exhaustion at around 5 p.m., it was clear that they were not sufficiently prepared for the winter conditions, Krone.at reports.

The police helicopter "Libelle" was used and brought the exhausted hikers to Ebnit, where the alpine police received them and brought them back to their vehicles. The lack of alpine equipment and the inadequate planning of the tour became particularly critically critically criticized, which the police classified as grossly negligent. A billing of the operating costs could now be checked. Fortunately, nobody was injured, but the situation could have been slightly different.

The Mörzelspitze - a popular hike

The hike to the Mörzelspitze is considered interesting, but challenging, as described on bergfex.at. The round tour begins at the parking lot, leads past alpine tents and over the Leukopf to the impressive Mörzelspitze at 1830 meters. Despite the mostly breathtaking views, it is not for inexperienced or those without any equipment. Especially in winter, the dangers of the conditions must be taken into account. The hike is usually a popular activity among tourists and locals in both summer and winter, but requires careful planning and good preparation.
