Trucks as a rolling danger: 47 violations and lack of safety precautions!
A dangerous incident occurred on Thursday on the A1 western motorway in Lower Austria when a truck described as a "rolling bomb" was stopped by police. This articulated truck had serious safety deficiencies and transported dangerous goods without any safety precautions. According to reports from the crown Officers discovered the vehicle during a priority check at the Völlerndorf rest stop. The truck, driven by a Bosnian citizen, had committed no fewer than 47 violations, including serious technical defects and failure to comply with driving and rest times.
The situation worsened when it became known that the truck was transporting several tons of Class 3 and Class 8 hazardous substances, i.e. flammable and corrosive liquids. Shockingly, there was no signage or safety equipment, which could have had catastrophic consequences in the event of an accident. In addition, the driver did not have the necessary ADR driving license, which further dramatized the situation 5 minutes in their report. The police prohibited the truck from continuing to drive and charged a five-figure security deposit to reflect the seriousness of the violations.
