Kangaroo Mirko in Carinthia: Spectacular chase ends happily!
An exciting adventure took place on Monday afternoon at the Edling reservoir in the Völkermarkt district of Carinthia when a kangaroo named Mirko broke out of his enclosure. Two police officers heard about the sighting on the radio and immediately gave chase. Shortly afterwards, they met a witness at the animal's last known location, who even showed them a photo of the fleeing animal. But Mirko was already on the run. How VOL.AT reported, an immediate manhunt was launched, involving not only the police but also firefighters, the animal owner, who has now been identified, and volunteers.
After an intensive search, Mirko was finally spotted in a stream bed. However, the situation turned out to be tricky as several attempts to capture the kangaroo failed due to his skillful evasive maneuvers. The police explained that it was only after a coordinated encirclement of the animal that Mirko realized the futility of further escape attempts. Finally, the kangaroo allowed itself to be “arrested” by its owner almost without resistance. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of everyone involved, Mirko was able to be returned to his enclosure unharmed. This was celebrated by the Carinthian police with the words: “An incredibly happy ending after an eventful day!” Pulse24 reported.
