The police carried out a comprehensive search in the Altach/Mäder area after goods were stolen from a company building in the industrial area on the night of Friday to Saturday. The perpetrator was able to escape during the initial search. The police searched intensively for the suspect using all available emergency services and a police helicopter. Witnesses reported that a man was spotted wearing a soiled gray jogging suit, which may be connected to the theft, reported VOL.AT.
On Saturday morning, another search took place in the area of the Schnabelholz stadium in Altach. Police combed pedestrian and bicycle paths and interviewed two women who witnessed the incident. During the search, some evidence related to the suspect was seized. Despite the unsuccessful search, the police said they would find the man they were looking for and stressed that there was no danger to the public. The investigation into the theft is ongoing and no further information is currently being provided, as the police made clear in their statement. The public was also asked to come forward if they could provide relevant information the North Rhine-Westphalia police added.
