Major alarm in Rostock: Police find body - but it's just a sex doll!

On March 30, 2025, the police in the Schmarl district of Rostock were called to an unusual operation. A walker discovered a large blue plastic bag in a bush and alerted the authorities because he suspected a woman's body was inside. This report led to a large police presence, including patrol officers, homicide detectives, forensic teams, forensic investigators, drone pilots and fire departments. The situation required a comprehensive investigation and caused excitement in the area.

Officers cordoned off the site and illuminated the area to accurately measure the crime scene. Drones and 3D scanners were also used, which made the scope of the investigation clear. The emergency services worked for a total of five hours before they even touched the contents of the bag. It was only around midnight that the first doubts began to arise about the assumption that it could actually be a corpse.

Clarification of the operation

At 12:40 a.m. the authorities finally became certain: the contents of the bag were not a corpse, but a deceptively real-looking sex doll that had obviously already been set on fire in some places. This discovery led to the immediate termination of the investigation. An undertaker who originally requested was notified that he was no longer needed and was able to leave. The possible danger was averted and it was decided to dispose of the doll properly.

Police officers said that they had never experienced such a spectacular operation in their careers. The entire scenario, which initially caused great concern, ended with a rather bizarre result. Police confirmed that no one was hurt and it was not a crime.
