Grandchildren covers fraud: Viennese should pay 18,000 euros for intact thermal baths!
Wien-Wieden, Österreich - In Vienna, two fraudsters, a 21-year-old and a 34-year-old Serbian origin, were arrested after trying to bump an 83-year-old woman for 18,000 euros. The perpetrators intended to convince the senior citizen that her gas boiler was defective and needed a costly exchange for a new device. Alarmed by the exorbitant price, the attentive woman suspected and pointed out her grandson, a 42-year-old man. The latter found that the thermal bath was not broken, but only the gas tap was closed. Despite the initial sum of 18,000 euros, the fraudsters only demanded 7,500 euros after a no -confidence signal of the old lady and immediately collected a deposit of 2,000 euros, such as oe24.at reported.
The critical grandson immediately informed the police, who then prepared to take the fraudulent duo at their follow -up date. On the day of the agreed delivery of the supposedly new thermal baths, the police were already waiting for the two men. These were then temporarily arrested. Investigations showed that the perpetrators recently became active with their company and that an invoice book that was ensured when the arrest was ensured indicated that further victims of the fraudsters may have been targeted. The police are now examining other possible deeds, since several thousand euros in cash were also found among the suspects. Due to the ongoing investigations, the men were initially displayed at a clear foot, as krone.at reported.
