Dirty theft: Man steals music box and Nintendo Switch in Straubing!

A brazen thief caused a stir in the Theresiencenter in Straubing on December 10th when he stole a music box and a Nintendo Switch worth 379.98 euros from an electronics store. At 6:30 p.m., the branch manager noticed the theft and confronted the fleeing perpetrator, who immediately ran away. A brave 30-year-old witness witnessed the situation and went after the thief to stop him.

When the witness was able to reach the thief at Wittelsbacher Strasse, the perpetrator pulled an unrecognizable object out of his jacket pocket and pointed it threateningly at the 30-year-old. This caused the witness to retreat and the thief quickly escaped over a fence as he fled to freedom. If he had known that PCs and camera surveillance at the crime scene would reveal the pitfalls for him! Thanks to recorded video recordings, the investigators from the Straubing police station were already able to identify a homeless person who was known to the authorities as the main suspect PNP reported.

Investigations are ongoing

The police are now working their way through the investigation into the incident and are continuing to follow the suspect's trail. How IDOWA reported, the thief is not unknown in the region due to his criminal record. Officials are confident that they will catch him soon and hope that such brazen crimes will soon be a thing of the past.
