Drama on the B3: Head-on collision leaves six injured!

A dramatic traffic accident rocked the B3 in Luftenberg (Perg district) on Sunday evening. Two cars collided head-on, causing one of the vehicles to be thrown over the guardrail by the force of the impact and come to rest on its side in a nearby forest. The accident occurred around 8:14 p.m. when a 28-year-old man from Linz was driving towards Steyregg. Sitting at his side were his mother, who was traveling with him, as well as his wife and their two small children, aged two and five. A 27-year-old driver from the Wels-Land district was driving his vehicle in the opposite direction.

The local fire brigades from Luftenberg and Langenstein were quickly at the scene of the accident and launched an extensive rescue operation. “The two drivers are likely to be seriously injured,” said the police, who announced initial information on the injuries of the occupants on Monday morning. A doctor who happened to be present and was driving behind the vehicles involved in the accident immediately provided first aid and supported the emergency services. A total of six people, including two injured children, were taken to various hospitals in Linz. Investigations are now underway into the exact cause of the accident, and the driver's alcohol tests were not possible on site meinkreis.at reported.

Overtaking maneuvers lead to serious crash

The accident was caused by a risky overtaking maneuver by the 27-year-old driver, who, according to a witness, crossed into the oncoming lane after overtaking and collided head-on with the Linzer. During the operation, the B3 was closed in both directions for several hours to enable the rescue and recovery work to proceed smoothly. As well as volksblatt.at and the police describe the dramatic scenes that took place in front of the eyes of uninvolved witnesses.
