On Tuesday, September 9th, 2025, there were significant traffic disruptions in Vienna due to an announced demonstration. According to oeamtc.at, the protest action under the motto “Stop toll increase 2026” will take place on Wednesday, September 10th. The meeting point for the demonstrators is 3033 Pressbaum on the A1, with the approximately 60 truck participants scheduled to leave between 9:15 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.

The route of the demonstration will take the A1 into the city, followed by a variety of streets such as Wientalstrasse, Hietzinger Kai and Margaretengurtel, with the aim of reaching the Ministry of Economic Affairs. The end of the demonstration is scheduled for around 11:30 a.m.

Traffic disruptions and recommendations
