Bloody attack at Westbahnhof: 35-year-old seriously injured!
On a turbulent night in Vienna, two frightening incidents occurred that kept the police on their toes. On January 15, a 24-year-old Syrian national was arrested at Westbahnhof. He is suspected of breaking into a barber shop in the Neubau district by breaking the window around 2 a.m. and stealing a tablet and two cell phones. The suspect became conspicuous when he returned after the crime and asked the manager, who was in the store, for a cigarette. The manager noticed that the perpetrator had a bleeding hand injury and then informed the police. The stolen goods were found in the arrested man's backpack Vienna.at reported.
The second incident occurred the same evening at Vienna's Westbahnhof train station, where a 35-year-old man was found with serious injuries. Police officers heard screams and found the man leaning against a wall with deep stab wounds in his thigh. Apparently he had previously been attacked with a knife and robbed by unknown people. The perpetrators escaped with the victim's cell phone and medication. The injured man was immediately taken to hospital while the police launched an immediate search, but this was unsuccessful.
