Drunk cyclist in Neuburg: near miss and theft cap!
On Wednesday evening there was a scandalous incident in Neuburg, which attracted attention not only because of an almost fatal traffic accident, but also because of criminal behavior. A 40-year-old man from Ottheinrichstadt was targeted by the police after a near accident on Grünauer Straße. The incident happened around 10 p.m. when the 22-year-old novice driver, who was driving on Grünauer Straße towards the city, was suddenly endangered by the cyclist. The drunk driver crossed onto the road in front of the young driver's vehicle without warning, which led to an emergency stop and a risky evasive maneuver to avoid a collision Augsburger Allgemeine reported.
The police quickly arrived at the scene of the accident, where they finally found the drunken cyclist in a supermarket parking lot. A breath test showed an alarming 0.5 per mille, and additional tests indicated drug use, identifying both cannabis and amphetamines. But that wasn't all: During the search, the police found someone else's debit card that the 40-year-old had previously stolen from an acquaintance. This criminal act indicates that the man had not only committed a traffic offense, but also carried out an act of theft, which further aggravates the situation for him, as the Danube Courier held on.
After these shocking revelations, the man was taken to the hospital to have a blood sample taken and now faces charges of endangering traffic and theft. Judging by his mannerisms, this will bring not only a legal but also a personal turn in his life.
