Aggressive brawl in Linz-Land: 20-year-old threatens police officers!

A series of alarming incidents shocked the Linz-Land region: On December 14, 2024, there was both a brutal fight in a bar and a brutal attack on employees at a shopping center. The police were initially called at 12:45 a.m. when a 52-year-old who was injured in an argument had to be taken to hospital. The 20-year-old perpetrator, also from the Linz-Land district, who was ready to attack, reacted to the police stop with violent resistance and threatened the officers with “killing”. How Volksblatt reported, the young man was arrested and continued his aggressive behavior in the police offices, where he punched against walls and bars.

A few hours later, around 5:20 p.m., police officers took action again. A violent argument broke out outside a shopping center between four young people from Linz and two shopping center employees. The trigger was a conflict regarding masks not being worn properly. The argument quickly escalated into a physical altercation in which the attackers brutally attacked the employees and then fled towards the Trauner intersection. Thanks to a quick alert from passers-by and an intensive search, the four young men, including three 18-year-olds and a 19-year-old, were finally arrested. One of the employees had to be taken to the hospital MyDistrict reported.

The police are now investigating both cases in order to clarify the exact background to the disputes and hold those responsible accountable. The situation shows the increasing aggressiveness in the public sphere and the challenges facing the security forces.
