Vienna protests against possible FPÖ government participation: thousands demonstrate in the capital

in Vienna gathered thousands to protest against a possible government participation in the right FPÖ. The activist Stefanie Stankovic clearly expressed her feelings: "I hate that we have to be here. I hate that we have right -wing radical fascists". The organizers estimated the number of participants at around 25,000, while the police did not announce any official figures.

The controversial election led to the FPÖ parliamentary victory, which turned the political landscape upside down. Almost all other parties reject cooperation with the right -wing populists. The conservative ÖVP under Chancellor Karl Nehammer seems to show a certain openness, but on the condition that FPÖ boss Herbert Kickl does not take over any government responsibility-one point that Kickl insists.

The demonstration moved through the downtown Vienna to the parliament, where signs with inscriptions such as "No coalition with Nazis" were seen. The Federal President started exploratory talks with the party leader, whereby a possible coalition between the ÖVP and SPÖ or even the Neos is being discussed as an alternative.

The results of the election showed a shift in power in the National Council, with the FPÖ received the most votes, followed by the ÖVP. The SPÖ landed in third place, followed by the Neos and the Greens. Small parties missed the move into parliament.

This political turning point in Austria has overthrew the country into a phase of uncertainty and political discussion. The future of the government coalition remains uncertain, while the Austrian population is preparing for changes and possible political alliances.
