Wolfsegg: Mobile peace workshop should breathe new life!

Wolfsegg, Österreich - the Upper Austria. Comradeship Association is planning an exciting conversion of the former Peace Museum in Wolfsegg into a mobile peace workshop and is looking for committed colleagues. The Peace Museum, founded by Franz Deutsch in 1993, was modernized several times under the direction of Josef Nagl, who was at the top for 15 years, but the hoped -for financial support failed to realize larger projects, such as meinbezirk.at . Now Nagl has officially handed over the museum to the comradeship association and sees it a chance for a fresh orientation of peace work.

The new President Anton Hüttmayr has set himself the goal of integrating young people into the project in particular and putting the peace issue in the spotlight. It is planned to set up a mobile peacebus, which tours through the district and bring peace directly to the communities. Events with lectures by experts and workshops for school classes are planned at every new location. This initiative is seen as a possibility to make the peace idea tangible and tangible, such as Tips.at notes.

The original Peace Museum was closed in October 2024 and the future of the location is currently uncertain. Talks with partners and the community are pending in order to further promote the vision of the mobile workshop. Hüttmayr emphasizes that the structures of the Comradeship Association could create a good basis for developing interesting content and technical solutions for the peace workshop. Preparations for an application at LEADER are already underway, and interested people are called to actively participate in this peace project.
