The best urban visions: exhibition of young planners in Krakow
On November 20, the opening of a remarkable photo exhibition was opened in Kraków, which presents the creative work of students from the Gospodarka Przestrzenna (spatial planning) course. The exhibition is the result of years of efforts by the lecturers of the Institute for Spatial Planning and Urban Research to offer students practical experience. Particularly noteworthy are the annual study trips to Vienna, which has been under the direction of Dr. Agnieszka Włoch-Szymla are organized.

A highlight of the vernissage was the announcement of the winners of the photo competition "Vienna through the eyes of young urbanists and planners from small poles", which was also advertised this year. From a variety of remarkable submissions, 43 works made it to the exhibition, and the jury had the demanding task of selecting the best three. It turned out to be particularly difficult because the photographs not only impressively represent urban use of space, but also showed creative and inspiring perspectives.

- The second prize went to Maciej Mazurek for his photography "Bahnhof Vienna".
- Third place went to Jakub Starzak with his contribution "Economic University in Vienna".
The award ceremony was accompanied by important personalities of the academic world, including the rector of the university, Prof. Bernard Ziębicki, and the Dean of the Colleges for Economic Affairs and Public Administration, Prof. Piotr Lityński. Both emphasized the importance of commitment and intellectual participation of the students for the fields they represent.
An important aspect of the exhibition is also the graphic design that was professionally implemented by the Poligrafia of the Krakow University of Economics. The photographs can be seen on the exhibition area on the first floor of the university's main library until December 20, 2024. This exhibition not only demonstrates the artistic skills of the students, but is also an expression of their commitment to sustainable urban development.
