Creative natural art: Agnes Boros transforms unique items into works of art

The artist Agnes Boros from Penzing has been committed to the creative redesign of natural materials. In her studio at Undereringasse 39 in Vienna, individual works of art are created from driftwood, branches and other finds. In addition, it also offers workshops that attract those interested in art.

Her passion was already awakened in her childhood when she experimented with salt dough and Fimo. But only after a creative break, which was caused by work and family life, did she find back to art - inspired by collecting driftwood on the Greek island of Karpathos. There she started creating decorations for her home from these materials.

from passion to the company

After a meeting in a delicatess business in summer 2017, which gave her the impetus to sell her works, Boros focused on her passion. Her creativity culminated in the foundation of "AB-handmacht", where she regularly presents new collections from seasonal decoration that she sells at handicrafts markets.

In addition to driftwood,

on materials also uses bark, branches and various recycled fabrics - from old jewelry to ribbons. Each of her works of art is unique and bears the handwriting of Boros' artistic style, which combines traditional craftsmanship with modern upcycling ideas. "I let nature speak for itself," she says, while showing how it turns everyday objects into new, impressive art.

Another highlight of her work is the creative trips that she offers on Karpathos. Here, participants can explore nature under guidance and design their own works of art from the collected materials. These trips combine creativity with relaxation and have impressed the participants deeply. "The creative freedom and the power of the island have all enthusiastically thrilled," says Boros enthusiastically.

With its concept of the creative club "Haus am Sea", Boros also creates a digital space for creative development. During the Corona period, this community, which now regularly comes together in virtual meetings, was created to design seasonal decoration and inspire each other. Boros describes the club as "a small virtual beach house" that offers space for exchange and creative activities.

For those who would like to become creative themselves, she will soon offer workshops. A winter workshop for children will take place on Saturday, November 16, in which the young artists can implement creative ideas from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. In order to keep the costs low, the price for adults is 65 euros, and only 25 euros for children up to 14 years. On November 18 from 5:30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. there is a workshop where a Christmas trailer made of sea glass and a "winter wonderland" can be produced. 95 euros are to be paid for this workshop.
