The Lotte Lenya Park: Refurbishment concepts bring a fresh wind for residents

in the Penzinger Lotte-Lenya-Park, which is named after the famous actress and dancer Lotte Lenya, there is resentment among the residents. Many people who use this small retreat describe it as "neglected". The park landscape, originally designed as a shady meeting point for the neighborhood, has been showing defects that the citizens are concerned about for some time.

From the dilapidated park benches to missing water sources to unusable tables, two attentive residents, Wolfgang Ribisch and Manfred Huschek, are announced by their impressions and suggestions for improvement through the MeinDribban platform. Ribisch, a resident from Heinrich-Collin-Straße, is critical of the condition of the benches, which are not only unsightly, but also dangerous.

Problems with the infrastructure

"The wood is used, it sucks up after rain and is sometimes cracked," explains Ribisch, thereby emphasizing the risk of injury that the damaged institutions starts. His solution: a comprehensive renovation of the park benches and a shift of the tables to a quieter level of the park, where they could be used more effectively to relax or play a round cards.

Manfred Huschek also has wishes regarding the equipment of the park. It advocates installing a drinking well or at least another water source. He sees this as essential, especially for families with small children or animal owners who often visit the park. "After eating, there is no way to wash your hands or drink a sip of water," said Huschek. This need is particularly pressing in the warm months.

future changes in the Lotte-Lenya-Park

The district head Penzing reacted positively to the information and suggestions. As part of the cycling project "Hütteldorfer Straße", a redesign of the Lotte Lenya park will be planned in the coming years. The repairs that have already been led not only include the dilapidated benches, the photos of which were transmitted to the responsible MA 28 for street management and road construction, but also the long desired improvement in the park infrastructure.

However, it remains to be seen whether and when the additional proposals such as the drinking well or the laying of the tables are actually implemented. The aim is to make the park more attractive for the residents and to expand its uses, which could also promote general well -being among visitors.

For residents who like to spend time in the Lotte-Lenya park, the planned upgrading is definitely a bright spot. In the next few years, this place could develop into an even more inviting oasis in the district.

as additional information: Enthusiastic park visitors should also be interested in new projects in the area, such as a small animal center in Breitensee or planting new trees in Diefenbachgasse.
