Green Ottakring start with new visions to the 2025 election year

The Green Ottakring presented their program for 2025 at their annual exam and discussed central topics that are intended to shape the district in the coming years. The focus is particularly on the upcoming district representation election in autumn 2025, which is a decisive challenge for the Greens.

Barbara Obermaier, the district head representative and state party secretary, appeared during the event. She emphasized the importance of the upcoming election campaign and explained that the Greens had to fight for second place in the district council in competition with the FPÖ. "The SPÖ will also make the district manager after the upcoming election," Obermaier is certain. Nevertheless, she made it clear how important it was for the development of the district that the Greens cut greatly. "Only with strong Greens will the district continue to develop in a positive direction," said the district vice.

The concept of the "super grätzls"

Another central concern on the exam was the concept of the "supergrätzls". This is to be increasingly focused on in the future, in particular the "Supergrätzl Lerchenfeld new". Obermaier announced that, together with the residents, they would also like to discuss their wishes as well as challenges and concerns in 2025. Citizen participation is an important aspect that should flow into the plans to develop a concept that meets the needs of the residents.

The extreme heat, which has increasingly led to health risks in the last summers, was also addressed as a central topic. "We have to green our district wherever possible. That means trees, trees, trees," says Obermaier. These efforts aim to improve the quality of life in the district and to find environmentally friendly solutions.

The exam marks an important starting signal for the Green Ottakring to the election year 2025, and it remains exciting how political developments will be. Further information on the plans of the Greens and their initiatives can be found here .
