Robbery raids in Vienna: police successfully through passers -by
The Viennese police had to deal with two robberies on Friday. In the first case, a 22-year-old man in Meidling was the victim of a criminal duo who threatened him with a fist fir weapon. This weapon was pulled from the trousers of a perpetrator and directed to the face and upper body of the victim. The robbers specifically demanded his iPhone and injured him physically. After gaining the prey, the perpetrators fled. So far, the police have not managed to identify or arrest them, and the investigation was handed over to the Vienna State Criminal Police Office.
In the evening of the same day, a second attack occurred in Margareten. An 18-year-old went for a walk with a friend in Kohlgasse when they were approached by a trio that was targeting the victim's expensive Moncler jacket. The suspects threatened him if he was not ready to hand over the jacket. The friend immediately informed the police, who reacted promptly and arrived at the scene. In the meantime, one of the perpetrators dropped the jacket and took the escape.
rapid use of the police
A attentive passerby made his bike available to a police officer in order to be able to follow the fleeing perpetrator faster. In fact, the official managed to obtain and arrest the 17-year-old Syrian in Brandmayergasse. He was shown at the instructions of the Vienna public prosecutor and could be released after the official act. It is interesting to mention that the jacket, which was initially considered prey, was finally identified as a fake.
The two accomplices that were traveling with the perpetrator are still unknown. Both people are described as significantly smaller than 1.80 meters and wore black clothes with hoods. The police urgently ask for indications of eyewitnesses that have observed something striking during the attack or the subsequent escape. Information can be passed on to the Vienna State Criminal Police Office, Mitte, on the phone number 01/31310/DW43800.
