From November 28th to 30th, 2024, the 77th Christmas show of Caritas Socialis (CS) takes place in Vienna. Daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., visitors have the opportunity to acquire a variety of delicacies as well as handicrafts and household rarities. The proceeds of this event benefit the mother-child house (Muki), which celebrates its 100th anniversary this year.
The Muki has a long history that started in 1924 when the first house for mothers and children was opened in Hütteldorfer Strasse. The facility has developed over the years, and women and children have been looked after in Linzerstrasse since 1952. The primary goal of the Muki is to create a protected environment for mothers and their children, especially for those who have fled to emergency situations or violence. The offer includes 17 transitional apartments in which social workers and social workers offer support to help those affected to make their lives independently again.
preparations for the Christmas show
The Christmas show organization is carried out with great commitment by volunteers and the sisters of Caritas Socialis. Sr. Susanne Krendelsberger, the general manager of the CS sister community, explains that this event is a traditional start for many people in Advent. Visitors are not only given the opportunity to acquire different products, but also to do something good by promoting the initiative to support needy mothers and children.
The advisory services of Caritas Socialis also offer information and support for people in different situations during the exhibition. These range from life and social counseling to material support, such as clothing. This extensive help promotes the stabilization of families and strengthens the quality of life of those affected.
The Christmas show takes place on the premises of the CS Pramergasse in the 9th district. Visitors are cordially invited to look at the special offers and to support the valuable work of Caritas Socialis. This event is not only an opportunity to experience a festive mood, but also a significant contribution to the community and the support systems for needy mothers and children.
