New SIP Song Bar in the Josefstadt: Thai flair for everyone!
Wiener gastronomy gets a new highlight: in Josefstadt the couple Piano Plupthong and Jan Petersen recently opened the "SIP Song Bar", which is located in Florianigasse 15. With this new location, more space is to be created for guests and at the same time a connecting element is to be created to your existing restaurants in Albertgasse and Lerchenfelder Strasse.
On November 7th, a soft opening took place in the new bar. During this opening, the "Mamamon" in Albertgasse is temporarily closed in order to carry out extensive renovation work. However, the restaurant on Lerchenfelder Straße is still open to guests, so that the lovers of Thai cuisine do not have to do without their culinary delights.
insight into the new menu
In the "Sip Song Bar", however, guests will not find great classics such as Pad Thai or the "Cosmic Fries", which are known in the "Mamamon". Instead, you can expect a selection of typical “street food” and new creative dishes that will continue the popular barfood concept. A piece of jewelry on the menu will be the "Lotto Day Sardines", a food that is humorous to the Thai lottery culture and is provided with a personal story. The owner wants to tell stories with her dishes and bring the Thai culture closer.
The new restaurant testifies to the warmth of the couple, who cares for their roots and traditions. The dishes are based on family recipes from Plupthong, whose mother is immortalized in the restaurant's logo. The name "Mamamon" is a tribute to his mother's nickname, which gives the gastronomy a family touch. Plupthong came to Austria in 2010 after working as a singer in Bangkok. The husband, originally from Sweden, came to Thailand through humanitarian work and crossed her way.
plans for the future
With the opening of the "SIP Song Bar", a family friend of the Friendly surroundings is also to be created. The new location offers more space than the previous bars, with two separate rooms, which together offer more than twice as many tables. The operators are also in the process of creating exciting new beverage variations that are dedicated to typical Thai spirits. The concept remains authentic and combines the Thai culture with the way of life in Vienna.
The "Sip Song Bar" is open from Wednesday to Saturday and takes a piece of Thailand to the Viennese Josefstadt. Particularly noteworthy is the endurance of the couple not to raise the prices since the opening of the first restaurant in order to show their guests the appreciation they deserve. In this way you would like to maintain a close connection to the neighborhood and offer your loyal guests a pleasant and family environment.
For national delicacies and cozy atmosphere, the "SIP Song Bar" is definitely an address that every food lover should visit. More information about the concept and the dishes can be found on www.meinbezirk.at can be read.
