In a recently carried out meeting of the Hietzing district council, there were four resolution applications for the connecting railway on the agenda. These applications, some of which result in different voting results, reflect the different views of the future design of the rail connection.

Johanna Sperker, the club chairwoman of the Hietzinger ÖVP, made it clear after the vote that her party has been fighting against the plans of the ÖBB for years.
