Klezmore Festival in Vienna: Experience Yiddish sounds from November 9th!

On November 9th, the Klezmore Festival in Vienna begins with this year's topic "in many places". It will be a solemn recognition of Yiddish music in various Viennese districts. For over a week until November 17th, visitors in Leopoldstadt, the inner city, Mariahilf, Neubau, Wieden, Hernals, Penzing, Margareten and Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus can experience various artists who present these cultural sounds from all over the world.

The 21st Klezmore Festival is waiting for some interesting innovations this year. Under the direction of Lisa Reimitz and Franziska Hatz, the new director, the festival will come up with a fresh concept. The musicians who appear reflected the impressive variety of Jewish music from different countries and traditions. The two artistic articles have commissioned Isabel Frey and Esther Wratschko to select the artists and programs to ensure the variety of Jewish music.

a new topic for in -depth encounters

Behind it is the guiding principle "in many places", which reflects the far -reaching geography of Jewish music history. This music has grown over many places, countries and cultures and has constantly developed, often as a result of displacement and transcultural encounters. "The history of Yiddish music and culture is shaped by displacement and exile on the one hand, but on the other hand - then as now - enriched by transcultural encounters," says Lisa Reimitz.

LISA Reimitz describes her ambitions for the festival: "2024 to take on a festival for Jewish music in Vienna means to open it up, ask questions, to search for - and to further develop." This perspective is intended to ensure that the valuable work of the previous actors continues with great care and quality.

The comprehensive program with all music events and appointments can be viewed at the official festival website www.klezmore-vienna.at . The Klezmore Festival offers the opportunity to experience and enjoy this special form of music in a new, inspiring way.

In addition, there are other exciting events in Vienna, such as the upcoming traditional pumpkin festival and the ongoing discussion about the garbage press at the carriage market.
