The Volkshochschule Brigittenau developed an exciting offer for Star Trek fans on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Klingon language. From now on, interested parties can register for language courses who enable them to understand and communicate in this fascinating fictional language. Klingon, originally created by Marc Okrand on behalf of the film company Paramount, has been very popular for four decades.

Marc Okrand, an American linguist, was once commissioned to develop his own language for the Klingons, a complex alien breed in the Star Trek universe. These fascinating characters with their striking facial features and compact bodies not only have a unique culture, but also a set of rules for their own language, which now includes around 5,000 words.

The course "Klingon for beginners: inside" takes place on October 31 and is aimed at interested parties who want to dive into the linguistic world of the Klingon. With space for eight to 15 participants: Inside, this course offers an affordable option from 14 euros to learn the basic aspects of grammar and vocabulary. The concept aims to convey the participant: to convey a first feeling for the Klingon language.

For those who want to go deeper into the matter, there is the course "Klingonian A1" , which is offered in a comprehensive program of nine teaching units from November 11th to December 16. The course fee is 82 euros, and the participants: Inside, not only important grammatical structures learn, but also basic sentences to exchange ideas in typical foreign everyday situations.
