Discover the new Turkish restaurant Oba in the Brigittenau
in Brigittenau, in the heart of Vienna, the “Oba” restaurant has opened its doors and has become a contact point for lovers of Turkish cuisine. The new operator, Niyazi Çevikaslan, leads the restaurant with a passion that is characterized by his childhood memories in the vicinity of the Turkish-Islamic Association.
The restaurant is located at Dammstraße 37, where it has been under Çevikaslan's management for several months. After a comprehensive renovation in 2014, the “OBA” now offers a modern gastronomy experience that attracts both locals and visitors. Çevikaslan, who grew up nearby, remembers that the restaurant used to be much smaller and offered fewer opportunities for the guests.
a pleasure for all senses
The menu of the "Oba" offers changing Turkish and international dishes every day, which are both hearty and sweet. There are three different soups to choose from every day, including famous options such as beef and lentil soup. "The Paça Çorbası is particularly popular - guests are often at the door at half past nine in the morning to enjoy them," says Çevikaslan with a smile.
In addition, the kitchen changes its warm dishes. From traditional stews to goulash to grilled chicken dishes and vegetarian options - everyone comes up with their taste. Grill specialties are also an integral part of the menu. For breakfast you can look forward to a plate with cheese, olives, cucumbers, tomatoes, honey, jam and a selection of egg dishes.
The "Oba" also spoils with its sweet treats. Classics such as Baklava and Turkish rice pudding are very popular. "Especially our rice pudding," says Çevikaslan proudly, "has many loyal fans." The atmosphere in the restaurant is inviting and friendly, so everyone can feel comfortable who is interested in traditional Turkish cuisine.
The restaurant is open daily from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and welcomes not only members of the association, but all interested parties who want to experience a piece of Türkiye in Vienna. If you need information or reservations, you can contact the number 0660/810 72 72.
