Freedom in danger: Kickl and Sönnichsen fight against Corona dictatorship!

Laimgrubengasse 10, 1060 Wien, Österreich - On March 16, 2025, FPÖ boss Herbert Kickl recalled the first Lockdown in Austria, which was used five years ago and is regarded as the beginning of a comprehensive restriction of basic and freedom rights. In his statements, Kickl criticized the reactions of the political parties to Corona pandemic, namely the measures of the ÖVP and Greens, which in his opinion formed a "unit party". He warned that the pandeme -related restrictions in particular had to suffer old people from loneliness and that the population was plunged into great confusion by mask obligation. The FPÖ saw itself as a lawyer for freedom rights and carried anti-machine protest onto the street, as Kickl explained. These actions mobilized up to 100,000 participants and were described by the FPÖ as a resistance to the supposed "corona dictatorship", which according to Kickl wanted to test the limits of state power.

Criticism of measures and termination of the professor

KICKL also directed the medical recommendations as represented by Professor Andreas Sönnichsen, who recently released the Medical University of Vienna. At a joint press conference, both complained that the measures to combat pandemic would have led to a massive restriction of freedom. Sönnichsen, former head of the general and family medicine department, questioned the meaningfulness of Lockdowns and vaccinations for less endangered groups. Instead, he called for a “through -succeed” of the non -endangered population by referring to countries such as Sweden who had achieved good results without strict measures. His termination was justified as non-compliant behavior in connection with Corona measures.

During the press conference,

Kickl and Sönnichsen set up a lantern, which was intended to remember the “victims” of the measures under which they also listed the basic rights, humanity and freedom of science. "There is an injustice regime in Austria," said Kickl. This statement came in the context of the extension of the Lockdown for unvaccinated, which was presented as an act of revenge and not medically justified, which could raise decisive political and medical debates. This is shown by the high potential for conflict between different political views in Austria, which focus on the Corona measures, as described by OTS and OE24
