ÖBB starts the Formula 1 weekend with 25 additional trains!
From June 27th to 29th, 2025, Formula 1 fans can look forward to an exciting racing weekend at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, which begins at the same time as the start of the summer holidays in Austria. In order to cope with the expected rush of visitors, which will be high again in 2025, the ÖBB has significantly expanded its train offering. How 5min.at reported, a total of 25 additional connections and around 8,400 additional seats are available to guarantee stress-free arrival and departure.
The expanded train offering primarily affects heavily frequented routes such as the southern and western routes. In order to cope with the high demand, some connections are being extended and supplemented by special trains. These measures are necessary because last year over 300,000 spectators planned to visit Spielberg, and high numbers are also forecast for this year Motorsport magazine added.

– Wien Hbf – Salzburg Hbf (D 17002)

– Wien Hbf – Kitzbühel (D 17096)
– Zürich – Wien Hbf (RJX 169, ab Feldkirch mit doppelter Garnitur)
– Wien Hbf – Knittelfeld (D 14689) - Sonntag, 29. Juni:
– Feldkirch – Wien Hbf (D 19781)
– Flughafen Wien – Wien Hbf – Feldkirch (RJX 560, verlängert)

Shuttle and transport service
Immediately after arriving in Knittelfeld, visitors have access to a free shuttle bus service that runs regularly from the train station to the Red Bull Ring. The buses run from Friday to Sunday every 20 minutes between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., and every 30 minutes until 11:00 p.m. (Sunday until 8:00 p.m.).
Since increased traffic on the roads is expected, event management recommends arriving early. For visitors arriving by car, there are various route recommendations from the surrounding regions. Toll tunnels must be taken into account, which is why a digital route toll should be purchased in advance.
Visitors wishing to arrive by motorbike or bicycle will find dedicated parking spaces near the Red Bull Ring, as well as camping opportunities from Wednesday and Thursday, which should be organized in advance.
