In the Gasthaus Adler in Bregenz there is a lot of movement: The current host, Diethelm Simma, announced that he will tap his last beer on January 29, 2025. "Better to end with horror than a horror," says Simma clear words about his decision, which is due to insatural -frequency conversations with the city. This did not want to make any necessary investments in the traditional restaurant, which has been in the city ownership since 1992. Simma, who was only brought on board in August 2024, does not see his future in the rearview mirror. He plans to start a new project soon, but has already sold his earlier company, the "Alphof Roß position".

The shareholders Felix Sieber and Marco Schmitz want to continue to operate the classic village inn, but also implement innovative ideas. "Our Fluh district absolutely needs an inn - for locals and guests," said Mayor Michael Ritsch. The city has decided not to see any need for investments, even if some renovations could be essential in the future.

The change of the tenant was absolutely necessary after the contractual relationship with the previous host, Alexander Trinker, ends on June 30, 2025 for business reasons. Schmitz and Sieber seem to agree: "We are happy about the quick new occupation and are optimistic about the future." In the event of a flowing transition, the inn is expected to be closed only for a week to make the handover smoothly. The historic Gasthaus Adler, which has been operated as a village inn for 300 years, remains a central meeting point in the community and is revived with a varied range for locals and guests.
