Latest findings from the three-country marathon: Waldseer show strong performances

Bad Waldsee – Last weekend, over 9,000 sports-loving participants from 50 different countries flocked to the three-country marathon, which started on the picturesque Lindau Island. The sun shone from the sky and ensured optimal conditions as the half marathon runners were sent out on the flat, idyllic route along Lake Constance. We passed the popular Eichwald lido and continued towards Lochau. The route continued through the Mehrerau monastery, over the Achsiedlung in Bregenz, before the runners finally reached the finish stadium at the ImmoAgentur in Bregenz.

A total of 1,818 athletes registered for the marathon, but as expected, the largest number of participants was in the half marathon over 21.1 kilometers. Seven runners from Bad Waldsee were also active among the 4,511 half marathoners. Thomas Degenhardt set an impressive time of 1:35:55 ​​hours, closely followed by Joe Fähndrich with 1:35:58 hours. Gero Strobel finished in 1:42:02 hours and Manuel Nonnenmacher needed 1:48:27 hours for the route. David Nonnenmacher crossed the finish line after 1:58:58 hours, followed by Sarah Friedrich in 1:58:00 hours and Luise Nonnenmacher, who needed 2:17:33 hours for her run.

Excellent performances from the Waldseer participants

Particularly noteworthy was the performance of Jasmin Fähndrich, who was able to impress in the quarter marathon over 10.55 kilometers with an excellent time of 1:11:02 hours. The mood was euphoric among the runners and the audience alike, making the event an unforgettable experience.

The diversity of nations and the thrilling competitions helped make the three-country marathon a unique event. The passion and sporting ambition of the participants were clearly noticeable. It remains to be seen how the event will develop in the coming years, but one thing is certain: the seven Waldseers hope to be at the start of the half marathon in Lindau again by 2025 at the latest.

Additionally, there are reports of the technical challenges that the organizers faced in order to make the event run smoothly. The preparations proved to be intensive, but were rewarded by the positive feedback from participants and spectators.
