A dangerous hedge fire caused a stir in Hard on Sunday afternoon, March 9, 2025. At around 2:27 p.m. the police were alerted because the hedge of a single-family home was on fire. The fire got out of control due to strong winds and spread quickly, also affecting a garden shed and a hot tub. How VOL.AT reported images showed large, thick black smoke and blazing flames. Residents tried in vain to put out the fire, which meant that two of them had to be taken to the LKH Bregenz to be checked for possible smoke poisoning. The Hard fire department was deployed with four vehicles and 30 personnel and was finally able to bring the fire under control. According to the cause of the fire, it could have been caused by cooled ash that the homeowner had dumped into the hedge.
