Bludenz receives new leisure and youth park: demolition work started

in Bludenz was recently started with the first demolition work at the old skater system to make room for a new youth and leisure park. The skaters have been happy on their usual track for the last time before the transformation starts. The new leisure facility is to be used by young people in the coming summer and includes an investment of around 2.1 million euros.

Mayor Simon Tschann commented positively about the project and emphasized that it not only takes into account the wishes of the Bludenz skating scene. "We also improve the quality of stay for young people from all over the Bludenz district. This is an upgrading for this national location of meeting young people," continued Tschann. This initiative was created by numerous participation processes in which the opinions of residents and experts were also taken into account.

planned innovations in the amusement park

The future system will be realized on around 4,600 square meters in Stadionstrasse. A newly created lawn playing field will be part of the plan, as will special bike storage facilities. The focus is particularly on planning a demanding skate system, which is designed by a specialized specialist planning office. The central area will represent the Spark7 Park , which will be equipped with various attractions.

In addition, a pavilion is intended that will accommodate various central functions, such as toilet facilities, lounges and deposits. A streetball square with basketball baskets will round off the offer. Mayor Tschann explains: "We want to improve the quality of stay. That almost has a parking character." Through a targeted planting with around 50 trees and cozy chill areas, the leisure facility will become an inviting room for young people of all ages.

youth councilor Andreas Fritz-Wachter emphasizes that the entire leisure offer for girls and boys is designed alike. In order to meet the needs of the later users, their interests were requested in advance. A precise planning order could thus be awarded that meets the requirements of the young people.

Further demolition work will be planned in the next few days. Before that, however, a telecommunications mast and various infrastructure lines are laid. The actual construction work at the amusement park and the skater facilities should start in the weather in February or March. By summer 2025, the new facilities should be available for public use, which many Bludenz young people are expectant.
