Trump relies on ceasefire: Hope for the Gaza Strip is growing!

The Situation in the Gaza Strip remains tense, while both the USA and international partners are trying to take a ceasefire. US President Donald Trump confidently commented on Hamas's willingness to get involved in an ceasefire. At a press conference, he emphasized: "I don't think" that reports on incidents in northern Gazas would affect the ongoing mediation efforts. Trump also referred to US special officers Witkoff, who sees the opportunity to quickly reach an agreement via an ceasefire and the release of hostages.

Witkoff will travel to Doha today, where he should take part in the mediation talks. The White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt confirmed that Qatar and Egypt act as helpful partners in this initiative. However, a specific date for Witkoff's trip was not mentioned, while reports from "Times of Israel" point out that his departure still takes place today.

The three-phase plan for Gaza

President Joe Biden has presented a comprehensive three-phase plan for the establishment of a permanent ceasefire, which is supported by Qatar and Egypt. The plan, which was received positively by Hamas, aims to bring together the needs of all parties involved in an agreement. In the first phase, the plan provides for a complete ceasefire, which includes the withdrawal of Israeli armed forces from inhabited areas of the Gaza Strip and the release of hostages in the exchange for Palestinian prisoners.

The second phase provides for the full withdrawal of the Israeli forces, followed by the release of all living hostages through Hamas. In the last phase, a reconstruction and stabilization plan for the Gaza Strip is to be developed. In the middle of these efforts, the Israeli government is under pressure. Two right -wing extremist ministers have already threatened with a coalition break, the plan should be accepted.

ongoing attacks and political tensions

Despite the negotiations, the Israeli attacks continue in the Gaza Strip. According to reports, the Israeli army has recently attacked 30 terrorist goals. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel had already met his military goals and that the return of the hostages must now be in the foreground. However, opposition politicians like Jair Lapid and President Isaac Herzog show support for Netanyahu if an agreement is reached by the ceasefire agreement.

However, the view of an agreement is endangered by internal tensions in the Israeli government. Foreign Minister Gideon Saar has emphasized that the opportunity for hostage liberation should not be passed, while Finance Minister Bezhalel Smotrich and Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir are against the plan and demand adherence to the war. The pressure of right -wing extremist coalition partners increases the uncertainty regarding the willingness of Israel to accept the new plan.

While the international community, supported by agents from Qatar and Egypt, is working on a solution, it remains unclear whether the conditions for a ceasefire can be met. A Hamas representative was open to a ceasefire, but made it dependent on the condition that the war ended completely. The coming days will be decisive for whether diplomacy is successful or whether violence in the Gaza Strip continues.

The situation requires patient and careful negotiations between everyone involved in order to achieve a sustainable solution that could promote peace and stability in the region.
