New range of mobility: RegioFlink starts in Jenbach on November 4th

A new, modern mobility offer started in Jenbach: the regio -fan. From November 4, 2024, the residents can now easily fall back on an on-demand shuttle that was initiated by the Tyrol Transport Association (VVT). This new system complements traditional public transport and is primarily intended to improve the pendulum opportunities for citizens. The RegioFlink is a flexible, needs -controlled means of transport that optimally uses the mineral resources of the community and reduces the dependency on the private car.

The special thing about the regio -flink is that it is electrical and barrier -free. The passengers can book via an app or by phone, and the vehicle picks them up at a virtual stop that is nearby. This arrangement enables different passengers to bring together with similar goals, which makes the service not only environmentally friendly, but also economical. As Mobility Councilor René Zumtobel noted, the combination of traditional and new means of transport is crucial in order to move people to switch to public transport.

pooling and flexibility

An example of the success of the RegioFlink is shown in Wattens, where a similar system has been implemented since March 2022. There, over 50 percent of the trips were realized with satisfactory pooling. This means that passengers with different entry and exit locations are automatically compiled, which leads to a systematic and sustainable mobility offer. The service in the Reutten valley kettle recently celebrated its one -year existence and was able to record up to 100 bookings per day.

In Jenbach, the introduction of RegioFlink brings with it some changes in the existing traffic concept. The village bus Jenbach line 1 is led shorter and enables a faster connection to the train station. RegioFlink takes over the majority of the connecting lines and thus expands the existing public range. It remains important that the student traffic is still secured at peak times.

simple access and tariffs

The booking system is available both via the RegioFlink app and by phone. For users who are not familiar with digital technologies, the telephone booking is a practical alternative. The costs for the use of the shuttle correspond to the standard tariffs of the VVT. There are reduced prices for special groups such as seniors, people with disabilities, children and families. In this way, access to this new offer remains largely fair and transparent.

Markus Freund from the ARGE Taxi Tirol emphasizes that RegioFlink not only benefits the citizens, but also serves the economic stability of the region. The service is carried out at the local level, which ensures jobs and strengthens the local economy. With this innovative mobility solution it becomes clear that the future of public transport in the region is showing in the right direction.
