Legal dispute over electricity prices: Tiwag in criticism! Consumers should be active!
In Tyrol it is bubbling! A violent argument between consumers, Tiwag and ownership GmbH could have far -reaching consequences. While ownership gmbh requires an amount for additional costs from concerned citizens, the Tyrol (AK) Chamber of Labor sees no legal basis in this requirement. This happens after a Wiener Kanzlei had previously issued a warning due to unauthorized parking on private grounds, for which a lump sum of EUR 399 was paid. Later, those affected flutter additional bills of over 97.50 euros into the house, which the AK rates as exaggerated and illegally, as tirol.orf.at . The AK advises not to pay these claims and obtain legal advice.

At the same time, Tiwag is shot because of its pricing policy. According to AK President Zangerl, the information from Tiwag is lacking in clarity and legal basis for the price increase. The annoying customers cannot understand the reasons for the intended price increases and are not sufficiently informed about the calculations. Zangerl emphasizes that Tiwag does not adequately explain to its customers how the prices sit down. He calls for a judicial review of the planned increases in order to clear up the dunning doubts. This is supported by Arbeiterkammer.at , since the transparency leaves much to be desired when letting information on the price increase. Zangerl also criticizes the attitude of Tiwag that it is not obliged to provide Tyrolean citizens, which is considered an affront to the owners of this company.
The Chamber of Labor has already started legal steps in order to have the misleading price adjustments checked legally. The entire situation could be a serious image problem for Tiwag in places, since both consumer protection and customers mobilize against the company. How these disputes develop and what legal consequences they will have for the parties concerned remains to be seen.
