Art and equal opportunities: Students: Inside, social visions show!
As part of the traditional festive Advent season, Liebburg in Lienz turned into a creative space for equal opportunities. A picture was hidden behind the tenth Advent window that was created during the art competition of the #mache tie difference. This initiative was launched to make the ideas and visions of young people visible on a socially important topic. 16 students: inside the Borg Lienz took part in the competition and showed their impressive works. The population had the opportunity to give up their voices for the favorite painting, which led to a lively discussion and reflection on equal opportunities. The winning work, selected for the presentation in the advent calendar, comes from Angerer and addresses the change from the caterpillar to butterfly as a symbol for personal development regardless of origin, gender or sexual orientation, such as dolomitenstadt.at reports.
The sad story of the "restitution"
in parallel to this creative expression, the shadows of the past are illuminated in Bruck Castle. In a lecture, the fate of 29 works of art is examined, the origin of which is unclear. The focus is particularly on the "Dance of Dead 1809" by Albin Egger-Lienz, which was withdrawn from the Jewish owners during the Nazi era and brought to Lienz. The heirs of the painting called for the return in 2005, which the Lienz local council unanimously decided. The picture was finally auctioned for over 900,000 euros and is now privately owned by an entrepreneur with East Tyrolean roots. As tt.com , such returns are not only exceptional: historian Martin Kofler describes how the restitution of "aranized" art stalls after 1954 and only won again with the art recording network in 1998. In addition to the "dance of death", three more works have been restored so far, while 29 pictures remain unclear with origin - a process that is becoming increasingly difficult over time. Kofler emphasizes that documents are often lacking and that the complexity of the situation can only be dissolved through extensive provenance research.
