New partner, new happiness: Venet mountain railways secure the future in Zams

in Zams and Landeck is doing something on the popular Venet: Despite a reduced winter operation with the smaller lifts, the future of the ski area is redesigned. The Prehrer Group has risen as a new partner, which is considered a decisive step to stabilize the company. In the past, both communities, Zams and Landeck, as well as the tourism association, were forced to provide financial support in order to maintain the company.

At the last meeting of the Landeck municipal council, Vice Mayor Mathias Niederbacher expressed his relief about the new developments: "We are happy that we are going on this block." The municipalities have now decided to cede the shares of Venet Bergbahnen AG to the Bergbahnen Beteiligungs GmbH. This initiates a comprehensive restructuring in the administration of the Venet mountain railways.

uniform decisions and different opinions

The decisions in Zams fell unanimously and without discussion. The municipal councils agree that the cooperation with the Pletzer Group releases the municipality from a serious financial burden and at the same time ensures the operation of the Venet Beams in the long term. In Landeck, on the other hand, approval was not made without controversy. City council Ahmed Demir from the list "Future Landeck" expressed concerns that many open questions remain about the scope of these decisions. Nevertheless, the social contract, including the assignment of the shares, was ultimately accepted with a majority, even if some agreed.

Mayor Herbert Mayer confirmed the need for these measures: "I am still convinced that we have secured the company on the Venet for the next few years with these steps. The alternative would have been a dismantling that would have caused considerable costs. Only we would have had no lift."

The changes in the Venet could have far -reaching effects on the economic stability of the region, not only by securing the lift operation, but also through the opportunities that a professional administration brings.
