Kundler Community Assembly: Focus on projects for the future

In the municipality of Kundl, around 200 citizens gathered, as mayor Anton Hoflacher invited to the public community meeting on September 26th. The event took place in the parish hall and served to give the participants an overview of the completed project measures and the planned projects in the community.

Hoflacher presented the successful completion of the new building of the elementary school and the triple sports hall. With a budget of 36 million euros, this project was the largest construction project in recent years. "The costs have been undercut, which is a considerable performance in view of the adverse circumstances during the Corona pandemic. This shows that we deal with public funds," he emphasized.

traffic concept for more security

A central topic of the meeting was the new traffic concept, which was presented by traffic planner Helmut Hirschhuber. He found that in the future, pedestrians and cyclists in particular should find better conditions in the in -depth traffic. A measure already under construction to improve the connection in the Liesfeld district is the first step towards more security for pedestrians.

Another important point of the traffic concept is the planned new entrance in the west of Kundl. This is to be connected directly to federal road B 171 in order to better open up the commercial area there. Mayor Hoflacher assured that the company Novartis has already agreed and the next step will be the detailed vote with the state road administration in order to check the possibility of a roundabout.

focus on affordable living space

The “affordable property” project, which is to be realized in Kundl, is particularly interested. In times when real estate prices rise and young families face major challenges, the municipality wants to help through this project. "We as a community feel responsible and want to actively act. By providing municipal property, we lay the foundation for cheap living space. The new home in Tyrol will implement this project," said Hoflacher and reported that the groundbreaking has already taken place.

The first construction phase provides for the construction of 25 condominiums on the Oberfeld, in which special attention is to be taken into account for sustainable construction and energy efficiency. The 3- and 4-room apartments are allocated exclusively to Kundler.

At the end of the meeting, further projects were mentioned that are on the agenda in Kundl. This includes the construction of the fire station, for which an EU-wide planning competition is currently underway. The sports committee also plans to implement a fitness path. However, the most visible change will be the new Christmas lighting, which will create a festive atmosphere in the coming winter on the streets of Kundl.
