Two cute black nose lambs conquer Innsbruck!

Innsbruck, Österreich - The Alpenzoo Innsbruck recently celebrated several joyful events. Shortly before Christmas, two lively black nose lambs saw the light of day. These charming newcomers are now exploring their surroundings with clumsy steps, always under the loving supervision of their mother. The Walliser Schwarznaschafe , known for their striking appearance with snow-white fur and black face, are perfectly adapted to the rough mountain climate. But that was not all: On December 12th, a small biser calf was born! Zoo Director André Stadler emphasized the importance of this birth, since Wisente was once almost exterminated in the Wildbahn. Mother and calf are good and enjoy their time together.

Not only the animal newcomers are one reason to be happy: the Alpenzoo invites its visitors to participate in the name for the new ferrets. The suggestions can be submitted via the zoo's social media channels, where the best names are for coordination. Such interactive promotions promote the connection between the zoo and the audience and enable visitors to become part of the action. The Alpenzoo offers an impressive variety of animals and plants that are native to the Alps. With around 2,000 animals from approx. 80 types of mammals to countless types of insects, it reflects the remarkable biodiversity of the Alps.
