Tyrolean tourism is booming: More than 397,000 arrivals in November!
In November 2023 there was a remarkable increase in arrivals in Tyrolean tourism: almost 397,500 visitors were recorded, which corresponds to an increase of 29,000 or 7.9 percent compared to the previous year. In the nights, the number rose by 4.9 percent to over 1,118,500, i.e. around 52,000 nights. The Wippe Valley performed particularly well, which recorded an increase of 36.8 percent in arrivals and 38.7 percent in the overnight stays. Innsbruck and its surrounding holiday villages led the numbers with an increase in over 12,000 arrivals and more than 26,000 overnight stays, as ORF reported.A striking trend this year is the large number of Italian tourists who have visited the Christkindlmarkets in Innsbruck. These markets opened in mid -November and are very popular, which indicates the early Christmas mood. The compilation and analysis of the data show not only the increasing popularity of Tyrol in tourists, but also the specific preferences that are reflected in the number of visitors, as was recorded in a study by Austria tourism. It remains to be seen whether these trends will also influence the coming months, but the current numbers have shown more clearly than ever where the journey for the platforms is going in tourism.
This year's growth is all the more important when the industry recovers the effects of pandemic and at the same time presents new records in the visitor volume. These inspiring numbers underline the popularity of the region as a travel destination during the winter months and warm the hearts of domestic hosts and service providers alike.
Further details about the increase in tourism numbers and the evaluations of the individual region associations can be read on the ORF and Austria website.
