New law in Innsbruck: street musicians will have to register in the future!
Innsbruck, Österreich - In Innsbruck, a new law that is to change the Tyrolean event law of 2003 will probably be decided in March. The draft stipulates that street musicians will have to register their appearances in advance in order to create a legal basis for regulating noise pollution. So far there has been no way to proceed against musicians who did not stick to existing rules regarding locations and seasons. The current bill will be assessed by January 10th, as regulation for street music
The new regulation is intended to address the multiple complaints of the residents who enter into the city every year. From now on, making music in the specified places and at certain times will not only be regulated, but also limited the number of registrations. A maximum of seven appearances can take place per day, and the musicians must demonstrate their identity to check by the supervisory bodies. The permitted instruments include string instruments, woodwind instruments and rattles, while acoustic amplifiers and impact instruments are prohibited, as innsbruck.gv.at.
Various places are available for registration, including Maria-Theresien-Straße, old town sector and the Waltherpark. A one -hour duty of location after each appearance is intended to reduce disturbances due to noise and enables a regulated implementation of street music in the city. The aim of these changes is to compensate for the creative development of the musicians and the need for rest of the residents.
