New opportunities for students: Church music course in Tirol starts!
Innsbruck, Österreich - The Tyrolean state government decided on March 11, 2025 in the promotion of culture and sustainability. A new course for Catholic church music will be offered at the Tyrolean State Conservatory from the study year 2025/26, in cooperation with the Diocese of Innsbruck. This course, which focuses on playing the church organ, liturgy and Gregorian choral, is intended to help maintain and promote the tradition of Catholic church music, says Governor Anton Mattle. Through this new course, students can use the expertise and resources of both institutions, which significantly improves their training, reported dolomitenstadt.at .
At the same time, a comprehensive program of measures for the implementation of 164 initiatives for climate protection and sustainability was presented. According to Governor Mattle, this program includes the expansion of photovoltaic systems on the roofs of Tyrol and the introduction of a drinking water well map. These measures are to be implemented by 2027 and are part of the Tyrolean sustainability and climate strategy. Mattle emphasized that climate change also represents significant challenges for the Alpine region and the implementation of concrete measures is essential to protect nature and to ensure the quality of life for the Tyrolean population. In addition to the improvement of energy efficiency, there are also many ideas for promoting sustainable agriculture and mobility on the agenda, such as tirol.gv.at reported. The measures developed in close cooperation with the population address both social and ecological issues. A third of the strategies focus on advice, legal framework conditions and funding, which shows that Tyrol is proactively working on the design of a sustainable future. With the new course in church music and the extensive climate protection strategy, the Tyrolean state government sets clear accents in cultural and environmental policy.
