Daniel Hofer: World Championship title for Dachdecker team from Innsbruck

In Innsbruck, history was written last Friday: Kaplachdachdecker Daniel Hofer crowned himself in front of family and colleagues as the world champion of the roofing. After three exciting competition days, which were characterized by tension and full concentration, the “Team Austria” was the last nation to announce on stage that they had won the title. Together with the Upper Austrian Bernhard Gösweiner, Hofer cleared several honors, while Switzerland and Germany took second and third place.

The competition took place in the Innsbruck exhibition center, where the participants had to demonstrate the entire range of their skills. Last weekend the tasks revolved around different types of roofing. So on the first day it was necessary to provide a roof model with Eternit. The jury was also able to take into account the production of insulation and ibex in the evaluation. The following day, the roof ceiling followed with beaver tail ton bricks, with extensive attention to details. Hofer and Gösweiner not only impressed with technical skill, but also with creativity with the last challenge, the freestyle, where they laboriously incorporated into a slate roof, among other things.

celebration of success

The top -class jury was obviously enthusiastic about the precision and the craftsmanship of the Austrian participants. With their outstanding performance, they secured the title in the "Steil roof" category and were also awarded first place in the special category "Früh". The celebrations were exuberant and took place with around 50 colleagues and the family in Innsbruck.

A short time later there was a reception at KAKL BAU GmbH, where Managing Director Alexander Gruber congratulated his congratulations. "We are proud to be able to bring a world championship title to the Mühlviertel with Daniel Hofer. This shows the high quality of our training in the craft, which is recognized throughout the region and beyond," says Gruber. Hofer not only received the title, but also a financial bonus in recognition of his outstanding commitment.

mentorship as the key to success

an essential part of his success was also the mentor Christian Gabriel, who has a lot of experience as a vice world champion himself. The KAKL team can look back on a long tradition of successful apprenticeship training, which is characterized by the commitment of the trainers. Walter Mitterbaur, head of the Holzbau division, emphasizes the crucial role of training: "During his apprenticeship by Christian and his expertise, Daniel benefited what contributed to this impressive result."

Thanks to this support and tireless efforts, Daniel Hofer has not only been crowned as a world champion, but also has the opportunity to raise his knowledge and skills in the roofing trade to a new level.
